Seek Sthir Lakshmi Through Shukra Dhanteras Mahayog Kolhapur Mahalakshmi Shaktipeeth Chadhava.
Rare Shukra Dhanteras Mahayog—Honor Maa Mahalakshmi at Her Permanent Abode—Invite Wealth from All 8 Directions
A rare Shukra Dhanteras Mahayog occurs only once in several years—when Dhanteras, the grand annual festival dedicated to Maa Lakshmi, falls on Friday, her sacred day, at her revered abode, Mahalakshmi Shaktipeeth in Kolhapur. Dhanteras, the Trayodashi of Kartik Krishna Paksha, is considered one of the most auspicious festivals for welcoming Maa Lakshmi, believed to be a time when the Goddess is fully awakened and showers golden wealth with both hands.
Friday is sacred to Maa Lakshmi and Shukra, the planet associated with wealth, good fortune, love, and opulence. The combination of Dhanteras and Friday is believed to intensify Maa Lakshmi’s grace, divine blessings, and benevolent power, with all eight forms of Maa Lakshmi opening the doors to prosperity from all eight directions.
Kolhapur is revered as the sacred land where Maa Mahalakshmi chose to establish Her permanent abode. According to the Karvir Mahatmya of the Skanda Purana, this is where Maa Sati’s eyes fell, making it one of the 51 Shaktipeeths and a Purna Peeth among Maharashtra’s three-and-a-half Shaktipeeths. Here, Maa resides as Karvirvasini Ambabai, blessing devotees with prosperity, and her west-facing idol is exceptionally rare, revered as a symbol of immediate divine grace and direct blessings.
